About the hosts :

Lisa and Johann are a Franco-American couple.
Following a career in finance and public relations in Chicago, the couple decided to change their life in 2003 and move to Provence to manage the family vineyard. In an effort to respect the environment, the couple has transformed the 11 hectare property, Les Pastras, into an organic farm that produces grapevines, olives, apricots, plums, cherries, apples, pears, figs, almonds, hazelnuts and both summer and black winter truffles. Enjoy a unique and resolutely authentic Provencal experience with charming local people who conduct their events in English.

Lisa and Johann also donate 50% of the profits from selected products to children’s charities around the world.

Truffle Tour experience in Provence details :

Go on a quest for one of the most coveted dishes in French gastronomic cuisine: the black truffle !

Guided by Johann and Lisa, you will discover the secrets of the culinary world’s legendary black gold. Your experience will begin with a visit to a Provencal truffle plantation, where you will discover cultivation methods and the way the truffle dogs are trained to find them. You will then go on a truffle hunt accompanied by professional truffle hunters. You will enjoy many anecdotes about the mysterious world of truffles and learn to differentiate the true Provencal tuber melanosporum from its less flavorful Chinese counterpart. You will also learn how to clean, store and cook these black diamonds.

Your visit will be followed by a tasting of fresh truffle canapés, Champagne and a tasting of olive oil and organic truffle oil produced by Lisa and Johann.

This « truffle tour » is available from May to September at 6pm and from mid-November to mid-March at 2.30pm.
